As a Norwalk Chamber member, you are invited to join any one of the committees you prefer. Committee involvement is a great networking opportunity and a wonderful way to give something back to your Chamber of Commerce. Be sure to call the Chamber to inquire about joining a committee. AmbassadorsAmbassador Committee members serve as official “hosts” at Chamber functions such as ribbon cutting events, grand openings, and breakfast and luncheon meetings. This committee is responsible for contacting new and existing members; inviting members to events, encouraging members to take advantage of Chamber benefits and gathering feedback from members on how the Chamber is doing. The Ambassadors also aim to support the Chamber's member retention efforts. Small Business Development CommitteeThis committee is responsible for assuming a leadership role in supporting Hispanic owned and other small businesses in the City of Norwalk and surrounding communities. To empower Hispanic and small business professionals throughout our community for growth through education, networking and mentoring. The committee meets monthly to dialogue with speakers on a variety of relevent topics. Open to all businesses; luncheon is provded, reservations are appreciated. Call 562/ 864-7785
Education FoundationThe Education Foundation oversees the annual Education Fund & Lucille Colln Assistance Awards Luncheon. The committee reviews the application guidelines for scholarship and Assistance Awards, as well as help select recipients. Publications/CommunicationsThe Publications Committee oversees the design and development of all Chamber printed information such as membership and marketing materials; the Norwalk Chamber News; and also oversees and helps maintain current information posted on the Norwalk Chamber website. Special EventsThis committee is responsible for planning and implementing member events such as breakfast and luncheon meetings; member recognition events; and annual special events including a Business Expo, Holiday Mixer, Golf Tournament and Installation. The main purpose of the Special Events committee is to support the Chamber's effort in providing opportunities for members to further develop business networks. Business ExpoA Special Events sub–committee, the Business Expo Committee helps coordinate all elements of the Chamber's annual Business Expo, from marketing and promotion to soliciting exhibitors, setup and decorations. Golf or Bowling TournamentCommittee, the Golf Tournament Committee helps coordinate all elements of the Chamber's annual Golf Tournament, from marketing and promotion to signing up golfers to making arrangements with the golf course. InstallationA Special Events sub–committee, the Installation Committee helps coordinate all elements of the Chamber's annual Installation of Officers and Awards Presentations from marketing and promotion, collecting silent auction items, setup and decorations. Regional Chamber Alliance - Government Affairs CommitteeThe Regional Chamber Alliance - Government Affairs Committee studies, analyzes, and makes recommendations on governmental issues and legislation affecting businesses and residents of Norwalk. This committee is a joint effort between the cities of Norwalk, Pico Rivera and Santa Fe Springs, Whittier, La Mirada, and the Small Business Development Center. |
